New and varied Android OS, Puffin OS! Is Puffin OS Threat to Android? Find out about Puffin OS-TechSelF

  • We have heard of the "Puffin" browser or used it on our phones, even once in our lives. "Puffin" Browser is developed by American company CloudMosa. Compared to other traditional browsers, "Puffin Browser's speed and security are more available. With the acquisition of these two special features from the "Puffin" browser, CloudMosa developed a mobile operating system called "Puffin OS".

  • Puffin OS originally created an open-source / platform mobile OS similar to Android using Android's source code Linux. They claim that they have used Avatar technology on Puffin OS to transfer your local device's workload to the cloud, which is why your device works much faster.
As we all know, mobile prices and performance are correlated with each other. For example, high-configuration phones are priced higher and low-cost phones for others are low-config and slow. The use of Avatar technology and the demand for Puffin OS, Puffin OS will enhance the performance of low-cost phones like expensive phones.

Puffin OS's main target is for low-cost handsets and the developing market, priced at $ 100 USD or less. According to CloudMosa their Puffin OS feature phone and less expensive Android phone will make it faster and smoother.

Beta Stage:

Puffin OS is currently at Beta stage and can be flashed on a few devices such as Redmi Go and Nokia One devices, and these devices are priced at $ 100 USD ($ 5) or less.

Puffin OS is currently targeting low-config hardware and developing markets. Puffin OS will bring their Internet-based devices to market as the Android Go device is not as good as its performance and Nokia One device is a feature phone with poor user interaction. So Puffin OS claims that Puffin OS will make low-cost phones much faster and smoother than expensive phones.

Same Android System:

Since Puffin OS has created a new open platform mobile OS using Android's source code, its user interface looks exactly like Android. However, it has a nice home screen and notification panel. However, instead of using the Google Play Store and other Google services, they used their own App Store and provided some of the default Android apps as default apps, such as some default pre-installed apps like Camera, Dialer
Personal App Store:

Instead of using the Google Play Store and other Google services on Puffin OS, they used their own App Store. As a result, if you want to install an app, they need to install their own App Store using the name Puffin Web Apps Store. And unlike most other Android apps, Puffin OS is a 'web app'. As a result, Puffin OS claims that phones with Puffin OS will work much faster.
Super Fast Installation:

Installing App on Puffin OS is Super Duper Fast. Because I told you before, the web app is used on Puffin OS. As a result, only the Puffin App Store can be installed by clicking on the desired app and installing it.

Security & Privacy:

While all other aspects of Puffin OS look good, I have some concern about its security and privacy.

Since Puffing OS uses remote browsing technology, they have set up a server, and therefore all the information you input will be saved on their server, such as passwords, debit/credit card information, etc. Which seems to me to be a pretty big Security Concern.

I saw the privacy policy from their web site which I found to be very small and obscure. When asked who they are, they did not clear the problem, only said they deleted all user information after 5 days and asked to see their privacy policy which seemed very small and unclear to me.
